FREE 14-Week Class C Mechanics Helper Training – Information Session

Through a partnership between the Baltimore County Department of Workforce Development and Living Classrooms Foundation, this FREE 14-week Class C Mechanics Helper Training Program is designed to help adults gain the skills, confidence, and credentials needed to enter today’s mechanical, industrial, and manufacturing workforce.
Participants will receive a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on “shop time”, simulating real work environments and exposing students to production line machinery and industrial systems used by employers. This program is ideal for individuals seeking a fresh start, career advancement, or a pathway into skilled trades.
In addition to technical training, participants will benefit from:

Program Start Date
📅 February 9, 2026
The program will begin on February 9 and will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
From February 9 through February 23, participants will receive Essential Skills Training.
Beginning February 23, participants will transition into hands-on vocational training, which will also take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

What You Will Learn
During this 14-week workforce training program, participants will gain skills in:
- Power and hand tools
- Lock-Out / Tag-Out (LOTO)
- OSHA 10 Certification
- Industry and shop math
- Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Blueprint reading
- Electrical schematics
- Production line machinery operation and basic maintenance
- Hands-on shop training (minimum 2 hours per session)
