Founded in 2025 by Eric Byrd of The Eric Byrd Trio, the Frederick Jazz Society was born from a vision to create a thriving jazz community in Frederick County. Recognizing a need for more opportunities to experience and learn jazz locally, Eric and a group of passionate musicians and supporters came together to establish a space where jazz could flourish. From intimate jam sessions to large-scale concerts, the society quickly became a hub for jazz lovers of all backgrounds.

Today, the Frederick Jazz Society continues to expand its impact through live performances, educational workshops, youth programs, and community partnerships.
