Everyone who values the power of Camp and Retreat experiences to change lives, this invitation is for you! Camp Fancy means you can choose your attire from prom night outfits to outdoor gear. Just be sure to have one part of your outfit that is “fancy” as part of the celebration. Enjoy a catered meal as we honor Beth, hear stories of making a difference, and raise needed funds for Camp and Retreat Ministry.
When young people (and all those young at heart) are afforded a safe, supportive, and caring environment in which to grow, they can truly change the world. Along with role models and mentors, those who come to camps and retreats find an authentic place for themselves within a loving community.
It is an absolute pleasure to recognize the service of Beth at the Camp Fancy Gala event on Saturday, September 13 at 4pm. We celebrate Beth's leadership, authenticity, generosity, love of Christ and legacy. We celebrate the fact that she has filled nearly every position in the camp and retreat ministry over two conferences and over 40 years! Beth has served as a summer staffer (dishwasher), a camp counselor, a camp dean, a board member and even an interim center director! And have we mentioned that she was a camper, too? Beth offered her passion for camp to Wesley Forest and Sky Lake, primarily but we have all benefitted from her love for the outdoors. Beth currently directs Deep Green Journey, an organization that seeks to cultivate a deep sense of purpose and belonging between people and God's creation. We invite you to celebrate Beth and to help camp and retreat experiences continue to change the lives of children, youth, and adults!
