About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Welcome to this 4-week support group for adoptive parents navigating estrangement or a strained, complex relationship with their adoptee.

This group is a compassionate space created for those who are facing the emotional challenges that come with estrangement, strain or disconnection in the parent-child relationship. Here, you’ll be surrounded by others who truly understand what you're going through.

Each session offers a safe and supportive environment to explore feelings of grief, confusion, and hope. Through thoughtful conversations and shared experiences and a little bit of education, you'll hopefully gain not only insight and validation, but also practical tools to care for yourself and begin to make sense of your unique journey.

You are not alone—I'm here to walk this path with you.

Meetings will be held online via zoom (a link will be sent the week before the first meeting)
Wednesdays from 12pm-1pm
June 18, June 25, July 2, July 9

$50 for all four sessions

Hosting this group is Carolyn Cain, MSW, TBRI® Practioner and most importantly, mom to six kids through birth and adoption. Carolyn has over 20 years of experience working in international adoptions as a social worker and parent coach, and has hosted many parent support groups. She recognizes the deep need adoptive parents have for community and connection, and she enjoys weaving in a bit of education and humor while walking alongside them on their journey.
