About this event

Community • Other

As part of Florida Climate Week hosted by the VoLo Foundation, participants will first learn about the importance of oyster restoration and then construct Oyster Rag Pots (ORPs) with cotton rags and cement. These ORPs will be placed in targated areas of the Manatee River to rebuild oyster reefs, which naturally filter water and enhance local habitat. Wear comfortable, old clothes that may get dirty- and be ready to have fun! This event will be held in the small pavillion at Fort Hamer Park.
