Come join us in Dania Beach for a fun and creative workshop where you can learn the art of metalsmithing! In this workshop, you'll get to learn traditional techniques to craft your very own silver ring from scratch. No experience necessary - our expert instructor will guide you every step of the way. Instructor:

Liliam Higa is a jewelry designer and artist with over 15 years of experience crafting elevated, sculptural pieces using traditional techniques in precious and semi-precious metals. She built a celebrated brand in New York and Los Angeles, with work featured in top publications and worn by artists like Alicia Keys and Angel Haze.

Class Description:

In this workshop learn how to create simple and elegant stacking rings in 3 variations, twisted square wire, flat sheet, and beaded wire. These pieces will be sized to fit each participant for a personal touch. Techniques such as sizing a ring blank, high temperature silver soldering, wire twisting, texturing, simple hammer work, and finishing metal surfaces will be taught. Students will leave with finished rings, ready to wear.

All tools, equipment, and materials will be supplied including sterling silver. Students may be able to fabricate 3 rings.

Open to all levels and great for beginners.
Small groups to up to 3 participants at a time allows instructor to give participants more attention.

Policy:

Classes are open to the public and offered to adults aged 16 and older.

Students should wear closed toe shoes, tie long hair, and refrain from coming in with long nails (keep in mind you’ll be filing, sawing, hammering metal and working with a torch).

Note: If you regularly wear glasses to magnify small text, please bring them with you, it will help!

This workshop is open to adult students, and pricing is for a single 2.5 hour class.

Due to the short duration of the class, plan to arrive ten minutes early. We cannot guarantee project completion for late arrivals to the class.
