Forest Bathing @ Cypress Lawn Arboretum

Witness the wonderment of deep rest among the gentle oaks and giant cypresses of our cherished Arboretum in a newly offered immersive experience at Cypress Lawn. This enchanting practice is ideal for those wishing to deepen their connection with nature and find peace in a truly unique setting.

This walk will be hosted by Arboretum Director Josh Gevertz and guided by Ben Page, a renowned forest bathing guide and author of Healing Trees: A Pocket Guide to Forest Bathing. Our certified guide will start with a grounding welcome session, followed by a series of thoughtfully designed invitations to help guests connect with the trees of Cypress Lawn's historic East campus, and conclude by reflecting on our experiences while enjoying warm tea.

Cypress Lawn is a big place. Where does the Full Moon Forest Bathing Experience start?

The experience starts at the entry archway of Cypress Lawn's East campus where the hosts will be waiting to greet you..

Where do I park?

Guests are welcome to park anywhere along the side of the road leading up to the entry archway. Event Parking signs will be posted nearby to let you know you're in the right area.

What should I wear?

We recommend bringing layers that allow you to stay cool during the early evening walk, and warm up as the sun sets and the temperature drops. We also recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes as we will occasionally venture off of the paved path to slightly uneven terrain.

Is the Full Moon Forest Bathing Experience suitable for children?

Because of the slow and meditative nature of the walk, we ask that all participants be 12 years and older.

Do I need to bring my own flashlight?

Small handheld lanterns and tea lights will be available to use, but guests are welcome to bring their own light source..
