On January 15, 2:15 - 5:00, the Department of Foreign Policy and Global Security will host a "mini-conference" in the SIS Founders Room to discuss the implications of the incoming Trump administration on U.S. Foreign Policy.

Introduction/Kickoff (2:10–2:15 PM)Panel 1: Implications for regions & regional organizations (2:15–3:15 PM)

Moderator Greg Aftandilian will lead a discussion on how Trump policy towards Latin America, East Asia, the Middle East, and Europe may shape behavior, norms, and priorities across various regions and regional organizations. Panelists: Ambassador (ret) Piper Campbell – East Asia; Professor Boaz Atzili – Middle East; Professor Chris Rudolph - Immigration, including to/from Central and South America; Professor Garret Martin – Europe

Panel 2: Topical Implications (3:20–4:30 PM)Moderator Susanna Campbell will lead a discussion on how Trump policies across various national security domains may generate realignments and reprioritization - as well as policy spheres where continuity might be predicted. Panelists: Professor Joshua Rovner – Intelligence and national security strategy; Professor Sharon Weiner – Nuclear Weapons; Professor Trey Herr – Technology & Disinformation. In addition to moderating, Professor Campbell will also address Conflict, Violence, and Escalation

.Panel 3: Political Implications (4:35–5:00 PM)Moderator and visiting scholar Dr. Sami Makki will lead a discussion with Professor Jordan Tama and Professor Shoon Murray on some of the broader political dynamics at play.

Each panel will be incorporate an opportunity for student questions. All students, regardless of level, department or school, are invited. You can attend one panel or more — there will be breaks between panels, and this is meant to be flexible and free flowing. Light refreshments provided.
