Folklore | MEMBERS ONLY
Overview
Banshees, werewolves, and all kinds of fantastical creatures... this week, we're looking for inspiration among folklore. From banshees to Mari Lwyd, you'll find new ideas a-plenty!
Explore this week's theme in more depth:
- Folklore Pinterest board (the prompts we’ll be using in the session, as well as many, many more)
 - Celtic Folklore inspired writing prompts
 - Mari Lwyd (an old Christmas tradition from South Wales, involving a horse skull accompanied by a group of performers)
 - A long list of legendary creatures
 - Learn about Knockers (Cornish folklore creatures who were said to lead miners to rich ore deposits in exchange for crumbs of Cornish pastys)

Welcome / Introductions
We start each of our sessions with our introductions. We'll ask everyone to share their name, a little bit about what they're working on, and usually ask a question related to our writing theme. The time spent on this section depends how many members we have, but we'll try to keep it to the first ten minutes.
15 Minute Writing Sprint
Using the image/text writing prompts from our session themes, we'll sit down to write with 15 minutes on the clock. You're welcome to pick an alternative theme or writing prompt if the current theme doesn't work for you.
Discussion / Sharing Work
After our writing sprint, everyone is given a moment to share how they responded to the writing prompt. You might like to share a section of your work, or you might like to generally talk about how you found the writing experience. How much you share is up to you! This timing will depend on how many members we have attending the session, as we try to give everyone enough time to speak.
