FMA EP Bay Area: Walk in the Watershed - Stivers Lagoon Restoration Project

Join us for a tour of the Stivers Lagoon Restoration Project, which involves the creation of 40 acres of floodplain and off-channel enhancements to restore Stivers Lagoon Marsh, a former tectonic sag pond that was ditched and drained for agriculture. The project represents a rare opportunity in Fremont and the urban East Bay to enhance native habitat by creating an extensive mosaic of off-channel features including floodplain terraces, seasonal and perennial ponds, and increasing groundwater levels to restore and support adjacent marsh areas. Please note the tour will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM followed by a bring your own picnic lunch from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM (optional).
