Want to learn how to fly cast? Join the Pequest Natural Resource Education Center staff for Fly Casting Basics - 101. We will go over fly rod rigging and anatomy, and how to cast the basic 4-part cast. We will be casting on grass, so no fishing license is required. Equipment will be provided, or you can bring your own, we just ask, no flies.

Age Limits

For ages 12 years and above. Participants 16 years and younger must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.

Prerequisites

Participants should be comfortable outdoors in changing weather conditions.

Cancellations

NJ DEP Fish & Wildlife programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. Please let us know if you are no longer able to attend so your space can be offered to someone else. You can cancel through Eventbrite or email us at pequest@dep.nj.gov. Programs at Pequest Natural Resource Education Center are RAIN or SHINE, but in the event of severe weather, classes may be canceled. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified by email as soon as possible.
