'FLUID' Exhibition
Overview
The 'FLUID' exhibition is an interdisciplinary art exhibition and film screening. This exhibition will include a sculptural gallery, costume display and feature the world premiere of the dance film 'FLUID'. 'FLUID' incorporates multi-genre dance, original score, poetry and stunning visuals to talk about the African American expreince. 'FLUID' will express the beauty and pain of being black and ask the question, "how can we heal"?
The sculptural art will be a physical representation of the themes in the film dealing with self love/hate, genertional trauma, and the intersection of religion and sexuality. At the end of the screening there will be a talk back session where the audience will have a chance to speak with creator and director Michael Bishop, cinemotographer Christian Pinto, producer Tallia Petrone, and one of the dancers about making the film, the themes in the film and the historical symbolism the film projects.
