The Flower Moon is the full moon that rises in May, symbolizing blooming, beauty, growth, and transformation. It's the perfect symbol for young girls blossoming into a new chapter of their lives.

Who is this event for?

This event is for girls, typically ages 13 -18, who have started or preparing to start puberty. It’s also a meaningful experience for mothers, grandmothers, aunties, and other caregivers who want to honor this important milestone with their girls.

While rooted in honoring traditions from African and Indigenous cultures that honor and celebrate menstruation and womanhood, the event is inclusive and welcoming to all participants. We center respect, understanding, and affirmation of identity, family, and heritage.

Is there a cost to attend?

Yes. The cost  includes participation in the full glow-up experience. The value is well over $200 per participant, considering the thoughtful production that goes into it— art supplies, equipment, beautiful decor, meals and refreshments, curated gift bags, and the dedicated time of our team.

A: Participants can expect a fun, sacred, and empowering atmosphere filled with:
•	Base level and relevant biology education and culturally grounded teachings about the female hormonal cycle and body anatomy. 
•	Art and confidence-building activities
•	A shared meal or refreshments

Do caregivers need to attend?

Yes (but not mandatory), we encourage a trusted adult—like a parent, guardian, grandmother, or auntie—to attend with their girl. This shared experience helps strengthen their bond and ensures the young person is supported as they step into this new phase.

How long is the event, and what should we bring?

8/9/25 from 10am - 3pm. Just bring yourself —comfortably dressed and your dress clothes to change into later. All materials, snacks, and supplies will be provided.

My daughter is shy or nervous—what if she doesn’t want to participate?

That’s totally okay. We create a gentle and safe space where every girl can engage at her own pace. There’s no pressure—just love, support, and positive energy all around. Many girls leave feeling proud and inspired, even if they were hesitant at first.

DRESS CODE

Although this is a relaxed event we ask that all girls and adults wear appropriate clothing. Casual clothing (that covers your tops and bottoms), fitness wear,  loungewear is fine.  For the photo shoot it is suggested to wear solid light colored  sun dresses, maxi dresses, or wide-legged soft pants.
