JUNE 8 SESSION with Abby Walsh:

WHERE AM I? - EMBODYING THE BLUE DOT

We play with our bodies' relationship to the space around us. Let's make the map multidimensional!

ABOUT THE PRACTICE

flow space is a living landscape of words, images, rhythms and melodies. This practice feels like writing a living poem, one that we experience with all our senses and discover as we go.

We don’t plan beforehand exactly what will happen in class, but we generally introduce a central topic or question, and then move through three stages of exploration: arrival (tuning into our senses); flow (gently facilitated, with plenty of prompts to explore); and closure (stillness/breath). The space is open afterwards for reflection, drawing, snacking, or just hanging out.

Flow space is intended for all kinds of creatives and curious souls. We move to experience insight, freedom and catharsis in our bodies, to explore our intuitive senses, and to invest in our body/mind’s visions.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Everyone is invited to participate, as you are. There is no right or wrong way to participate: playful or silly, anxious or bored, sorrow or joy or anger - everything belongs.

We don't concern ourselves with outcomes, or with how the process looks from the outside.

You are encouraged to simply move (or not move) your body in the way that feels right to you, in each moment.

ABOUT YOUR HOST

Ellie grew up in the world of ballet and danced professionally for a decade. She developed flow space in 2023 as a movement sanctuary: a place to escape perfectionistic demons, invest in creativity, and explore the unexpected and unknown together with kindred spirits. An avid writer and music-maker, she loves nothing more than the synesthesia of mixing her crafts, and embodying poetry by dancing it.

Ellie believes that truth is felt in the body. She also believes that every meal is better with kimchi, and enjoys staring at trees.
