Join expert knapper Gary Pickett as he guides a hands-on intro workshop on flint knapping. What is flint knapping you ask? Well, have you ever seen a carved arrowhead? If you answred yes then you've most likely seen a primitive tool made by flint knapping.

Flint knapping is the process of creating stone tools by carefully chipping away material from flint or other high-silica stones to shape them into desired forms. This ancient technique has been used for thousands of years to create a variety of tools, including arrowheads, knives, and scrapers.


This outdoor workshop will take place from 11-2pm. This event is outdoors and will take place under a tent but plan and dress accordingly.


What to Bring: Chair and some snacks. Knapping materal and supplies will be provided. Knapping kits will also be ava for purchase during the event.


*You must reserve a seat for this event. No walk-ins.

*No Parking on-site. Limited street parking. Ride share strongly encouraged.

A suggested donation of $25 is recommended but not required.

Is space limited?

Yes, capacity for this event is 20 people. Keeping the number small will allow the host to give each participant attention. Please arrive a little early to grab a seat or browse the shop before the event starts.

Are rocks for sale?

Yes! My shop will be open once doors open and briefly after the workshop is over to purchase specimens and merch. The workshop leader may also have things available for purchase.

What supplies do I need?

Stone and knapping tools will be provided however you will need to bring a chair. (See events details for more information).
