In this 2-hour session, participants will use plain sand as a medium to express personal dreams, transitions, and the evolving nature of life. Through guided mark-making and intuitive gestures, newcomer, immigrant, and BIPOC adults (18+) will create temporary designs that embody their hopes and inner journeys.

This workshop embraces impermanence as a powerful metaphor, offering space for quiet reflection, creative play, and shared meaning through simple, grounded materials.

👩🏽‍🎨 About the Facilitator - Paulina Constancia

This multidisciplinary naïf artist from Cebu, Philippines, now based in Vancouver, BC, brings to life vibrant, whimsical works inspired by tropical childhood landscapes and global travels. Her colorful art blends humor, empathy, and a childlike perspective, often featuring smiling suns, curious humans, and animal companions as metaphors for deeper themes. Working with canvas, textiles, stitching, and found materials, her collections reflect intimate chapters of her life and social commentary. Her work has been exhibited worldwide—from Southeast Asia to Europe and North America—and is part of respected permanent collections such as the Musée international d’art naïf de Magog, BC Children’s Hospital, and Galerija likovnih samorastnikov Trebnje.
