About this event

Flags serve as national symbols, representing a place’s identity and values and can also serve to promote awareness of causes and movements. Let us gather and create our own representation for the society we choose to live in. Utilizing sewing, embroidery, painting, stencils, symbols, and sigils participants will each make a flag to resonate out into the collective.

All textile experience range welcome! Even if you have never touched a sewing machine or picked up a needle, facilitators will be present to show the ins and outs of how to use a sewing machine and tips and tricks of their own textile art practice. Community skill sharing ENCOURAGED!

Some sewing machines and materials provided but feel free to bring your own machine/textile scraps and adornments you have laying around. BYO dowel or driftwood to hang your flag if you want!
