Founded in 2025 by Eric Byrd of The Eric Byrd Trio, the Frederick Jazz Society was born from a vision to create a thriving jazz community in Frederick County. Recognizing a need for more opportunities to experience and learn jazz locally, Eric and a group of passionate musicians and supporters came together to establish a space where jazz could flourish. From intimate jam sessions to large-scale concerts, the society quickly became a hub for jazz lovers of all backgrounds.

Today, the Frederick Jazz Society continues to expand its impact through live performances, educational workshops, youth programs, and community partnerships. We are committed to making jazz accessible to everyone, fostering the next generation of musicians, and ensuring that this timeless art form remains a vital part of Frederick’s cultural identity.
