Fizz, Pop, Yum! The Science of Food

Why do some foods and drinks get all bubbly and fizzy—like they’re having a little party in your mouth?

Why do some foods go POP when you make or eat them, like popcorn or popping candy? What's making all that fun noise?

Join us and learn about the science behind how some of your favorite foods are made and how ingredients chemically interact to give us the foods we love to eat. This is a super fun class that is part chemistry and part cooking. This hands-on class is great for kids who are curious, love to learn, and have an interest in cooking and helping in the kitchen.

Due to safety and hygiene concerns, close-toed shoes are required, and hair must be pulled back or under a cap.

Camp runs 9 AM - 12 PM daily from June 16 through June 20. An email will be sent once registered with more information.

Youth must be ages 8 to 13 as of September 1, 2024 to participate.

Space is limited to 12 youth. A wait list will be available.

No refunds will be issued 7 days prior to the class.

NOTE: Classes and events may be canceled at any time due to low registration or other circumstances, with full refunds issued for paid events. Similar classes or events often are offered on future dates.
