Violet’s Twisted Wine Society – December Wine Pairings


1. Iron & Sand Cabernet Sauvignon – Paso Robles, CA

Wine Profile: Dry, full-bodied, dark fruit (blackberry, cassis), hints of mocha and minerality.
Paired With: Traditional Steak Frites
Why It Works: The structure and tannins in this Cabernet pair beautifully with classic steak—especially with herb butter or pan sauce—while the wine’s dark fruit complements the crispy salted fries.

2. Jim Barry “The Cover Drive” Cabernet Sauvignon – Clare Valley, Australia

Wine Profile: Dry, dark fruit, elegant tannins, smooth finish.
Paired With: Canadian-Style Steak-Favored Frites
