Our expert speakers will guide you through the process of identifying when a child may benefit from early intervention services. Sessions offered:
- Session 1 : What is Child Find? Let's Talk about Eligibility for Birth to Three : Review the IDEA Part C requirements for referring children to Part C of IDEA. Additionally, this presentation will review what child find means for Part B of IDEA and how the systems work together to support families of children 0-5.
- Session 2: Birth to Three and Pre School Road Show - This presentation will provide an overview of the requirements outlined in IDEA Part C and Part B regarding transition from Birth to Three to Preschool Special Education. This will overview the regulations and which system is responsible for which piece. It will also outline how to improve the process for better outcomes for families.
- Session 3: 211 Child Development and ASQ What and How: This session explores how early childhood professionals can strengthen Child Find efforts by embedding developmental screening—such as the Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ)—into everyday practices that actively engage families. Participants will learn how screening tools can serve as entry points to build trust with families, identify developmental concerns early, and ensure smooth pathways to Birth to Three and Preschool Special Education when needed.
- Session 4: Family Engagement: How to talk to families about early identification, developmental screening, and how to dicusss developmental concerns.
- Session 5: Igniting Developmental Growth: Partnering with Families Through Sparkler: Sparkler is an innovative mobile platform that supports developmental monitoring, family engagement, and connection to services—all through the power of technology. In this interactive session, participants will learn how Sparkler helps families track their child’s development using tools like the Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ), access play-based learning activities, and receive real-time support from early childhood professionals
