First Response (existing first aid conversion)
Overview
This face-to-face session is for adult volunteers within The Scouts who need to complete or renew First Response training and who already hold a suitable first aid qualification (e.g. First Aid at Work).
Before attending the training, volunteers must:
- Provide a copy of their existing First Aid at Work (2-3 day) or Emergency First Aid at Work (1 day) certificate to the trainer.
- Complete the relevent conversion e-learning course and submit a copy of their certificate to the trainer (see options below):
- If you hold a 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work qualification you need to complete this course: https://hampshire-scouts.thinkific.com/courses/efawconversion
- If you hold a 2-3 day First Aid at Work qualification you need to complete this course: https://hampshire-scouts.thinkific.com/courses/fawconversion
- If you hold a Child First Aid qualification you need to complete this course: https://hampshire-scouts.thinkific.com/courses/childfirstaidconversion
- If you hold a 1 day RYA First Aid qualification you need to complete this course: https://hampshire-scouts.thinkific.com/courses/RYAconversion
The face-to-face session will cover the CPR practical demonstration requirement for First Response that was not part of your current qualification syllabus (e.g. paediatric CPR for First Aid at Work). This will typically involve working on the floor so you will need to dress appropriately.
If you have any medical issues or learning needs that may affect your participation in the course, please let the trainer know so they can discuss reasonable adjustments.
If you’ve not been to Gosforth’s HQ before, it’s on the Wasdale Road opposite St Mary’s church and between the primary school and Bradbury House care home (Google maps; ///rather.bitter.cashier).
