First Fruits: Lifted Voices Community Workshop
Overview
Join us on January 10 from 12–3 PM for the First Fruits: Lifted Voices Community Workshop, a special event offering an exciting preview of three Middle Passage Musicals written by Ricardo Pitts-Wiley:
- Azu the Future Seer: A Kwanzaa Song
- Free to Freedom
- Celebrations: An African Odyssey
This engaging program features select scenes and songs from each work, providing a first look at these powerful stories of identity, resilience, and cultural legacy.
Following the preview, stay for an immersive Lifted Voices community workshop, where music director Kim Pitts-Wiley and members of the Exult Choir will guide attendees in learning and performing two pieces from the shows. All experience levels are welcome—come ready to sing, learn, and lift your voice in community.
Celebrate creativity, culture, and collective expression at this inspiring First Fruits event.
