“What the heck is a Parish Life Coordinator: What I learned in my first Year.”

Deacon Will has been blessed beyond all measure. He has 7 wonderful grown children,eight grandchildren and the most wonderful wife in the entire world. Liz and Will Have been married for 38 years. Their motto is Bigger Buckets!” They say they need bigger buckets to catch all of God's blessings.

Deacon Will graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor's degree in Finance. He is a graduate of the United States Army Command and General Staff School. He also attended THE Ohio State University- (ATI) Agricultural Technical Institute- Greenhouse Technology program.

He is an entrepreneur who has started, purchased and grown a myriad of businesses. They range from nationwide youth athletic tournaments, commercial real estate agencies, numerous mechanical contracting businesses as well as owning and operating several commercial and residential real estate rental companies.

Prior to breaking his body, he ran on the Ohio National Guard Marathon Team, competed in many mini-triathlons, marathons, 50Ks and did the Bike for Life. BFL was an Ethiopian Famine Relief effort where Will and his friend rode their bicycle from Akron to California and back, 5608 miles in 61 days and raised over $20 thousand dollars.

Following his desire to serve others, Deacon Will served in the Army National Guard for 33 years. He enlisted as a Military Police Officer prior to becoming a commissioned officer. As an officer he served as a Cavalry Scout Troop Commander, an M-1 Abrams Tank Company Commander and was also the Commander of the Ravenna Arsenal. He was deployed to Kosovo and retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, in 2014, after his deployment to Afghanistan.

He and Liz live on a 65 acre farm in Cuyahoga Falls, which was the old Camp Christopher before it moved to Bath township. He enjoys gardening, hunting, fishing, keeping bees, tending his grapes and orchard, making maple syrup and pretty much anything outdoors.

He was ordained in 2007 and served as deacon at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Cuyahoga Falls until April of 2024 when Bishop Edward Melesik asked him to take over as Parish Life Coordinator at Mother of Sorrows Parish in Peninsula . He described getting this assignment as a dream come true, but a dream he never thought to dream of.
