First Day Hikes: Oak Tree Community Science Walk

By California State Parks

Overview

Join us to discover the incredible importance of oaks and oak woodlands!

Learn how these mighty trees support wildlife, shape ecosystems, and connect people to this landscape. Then, take part in a hands-on community science activity to help protect our oaks for the future.

This 2-mile walk begins at the main trailhead and ends at the Visitor Center. From there, you’re welcome to continue exploring on your own or return to your car at your own pace. The route features little to no elevation gain and is suitable for most visitors.

Wear layers and closed toe shoes. Bring water. We recommend you bring a picnic dinner to enjoy after the program!

Rain will cancel. No pets.
