Date and Time: Thursday, January 1st at 10:00am
Distance: 1.1 mile
Guide: Lauren Arcomano
Join Chatham Conservation Foundation (CCF) Executive Director Lauren Arcomano in welcoming 2026 with a guided walk along CCF's Frost Fish Creek Trail. The trail meanders along the eastern edge of Frost Fish Creek, offering walkers glimpses of an old cranberry operation which has reverted to open wetlands. Bring your binoculars to get a good view of "winter locals" of Frost Fish Creek, including buffleheads and other ducks!
The Chatham Conservation Foundation joins other Cape conservation groups in #FirstDayHikesCapeCod on January 1, 2026. Building on the popularity of the national state park program originally launched in Massachusetts, this regional celebration features free special walks, talks, and hikes in communities across Cape Cod providing a range of opportunities for families, children, residents, and visitors to get outside and explore on the first day of the new year.
