Hosted by Erin Perry (Compass Realty / Kappel Realty Group) — a San Diego Realtor® with a Disaster Preparedness and Knowledge (DPK) Certification from the California Association of Realtors® — and Susan Redelings of the Normal Heights Fire Safe Council, this community workshop will walk you through simple, effective ways to reduce wildfire risk and protect your property.

• How to “harden” your home using ember-resistant materials, proper venting, and roof upgrades
• What makes a truly effective defensible space (and what not to waste money on)
• How to reduce ignition zones around decks, fences, and landscaping
• Updates on insurance requirements and how mitigation work can support coverage
• Ways to coordinate with neighbors and build a fire-safe block
