About this event
Your project needs just one more thing to be done—Finish! This class will teach you about the history of finishes (what should I use on grandma’s old furniture?), purposes of finishes (pretty vs protection), typology (types of finishes), and how to apply various finishes. This class has both hands-on opportunities and lecture demonstrations of how to select, apply, and care for your finishes. You will take home a sample board of tested finishes. Learn the art of finish and turn any hobby piece into a masterpiece! All class participants receive a 15% discount on merchandise purchased in the store on the same day of their class. Exclusions apply. Students should come properly attired for a woodworking class (tight fitting clothing, long hair restrained and constrained from the face); and bring or wear provided industry standard hearing protection and safety glasses during equipment operation. All woodworking classes are held in a store that sells a wide variety of woods, including exotic woods such as cedar, aromatic cedar and other products (e.g., finishes, cleaners, etc.) that may cause allergic or other reactions in a small number of cases. Each student should carefully consider their health and reaction to products around them when signing up for this or any of the Rockler woodworking classes. Considering a 1-on-1 private Instruction? Email us separately at store6@rockler.com to let us know what you’re interested in learning, and we’ll tailor a 3-hour class to your exact needs. Learn exactly what you need, at your own pace: that’s what 1-on-1 private instruction is all about. (Not everything can be taught in a single class session; we’ll discuss this with you before the class.) Class size is limited to one student: you. If you’d prefer to bring a friend, contact us and we can enroll up to one additional student. Contact store for more details.
