Oil based, water based, tung oil, linseed oil, shellac, varnish…the list goes on and on! It's easy to see why finishing can get a little intimidating. Well, it's time to take the mystery out of finishing! Want to know how to get the water ring removed from the table? Have a scratch that needs to disappear? Which woods are prone to blotching and how do you prevent it? Understanding the various finishes available will help you to solve all sorts of woodworking challenges and protect your handmade treasure for generations to come. This hands on class will turn you into a finishing expert ready to tackle that next project. From surface preparation to finish selection to application, this class will walk you through the process, leaving you with the confidence to refinish your kitchen cabinets, upcycle that unique project or correctly finish that project you have invested so much time and energy in. Be sure to come with any questions you might have. This is a 5 hour comprehensive class with a half hour lunch break. All class participants receive a 15% discount on merchandise purchased in the store on the same day of their class. Exclusions Apply.

Frequently asked questions
This class requires the use of power tools, which requires the attendee to be 14 years or older. Attendees below 18 years must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or legal guardian throughout the entire class. If a parent or legal guardian is required to attend, only 1 ticket is required.
Safety glasses or face shields, hearing protection, gloves, and dust respirators will be provided free of charge as needed. No loose clothing should be worn, long sleeves should be rolled up, long hair should be tied back. No open-toed shoes can be worn during classes.
