About this event
Aligned with the common themes found throughout many Ancient traditions at this time of year, including All Souls’ Day, Día de los Muertos, Samhain, and Diwali, this wellness retreat honors the shifting of the seasons, the cycles of nature, and the eternal light within that illuminates the darkness.
Through a blend of intention setting and fire ceremony, connective and celebratory somatic movement, and guided imagery with a cleansing, blissful Soundbath finale, this immersive retreat experience restores balance to the nervous system, clarity to the mind, and peace to the spirit. Together, we’ll explore community, remembrance, and gratitude through honoring our past, and elevating joy in body, mind and soul.
Guests are encouraged to bring a personal memento of your lineage—a small object or photo symbolizing a connection to those people or moments you wish to pay homage to and uplift.
Mats, towels, blankets, & eye covers, and refreshments will be provided. Guests are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats, pillows, blankets, and/or eye pillows for additional comfort. Dress comfortably and in layers.
Flow of the Day
2:00pm–2:15pm — Arrival & Settle
Guests arrive to a warmly lit space with herbal tea and gentle live sound. An altar of remembrance welcomes items and photos from each participant, creating a collective mosaic of memory and gratitude.
2:15pm–3:30pm— Opening Circle, Journaling & Fire Ceremony
Through guided meditation & seasonal readings, participants reflect on the past to identify what is here to shed and what is here to be grateful for. Intentions are then offered to the fire—a ritual of release and transformation, honoring both ancestors and personal evolution.
3:40pm–4:30pm — Somatic Movement Journey
A belly dance–inspired movement practice reconnects you to the wisdom of the body, inviting emotional release, opening of your energetic channels, and grounded vitality. By connecting with the deepest layers of fascia through timelessly fluid patterns, a transformational opportunity is born creating a bridge between past and future. Gentle and accessible, this session reclaims movement as joy and medicine. No dancing experience required.
4:30pm–4:45pm — Seasonal Bites & Herbal Refreshments
Light refreshments allow time for integration and connection in community.
4:45pm–6pm — Soundbath & Integration
The retreat concludes with a ceremonial Soundbath immersion designed to regulate the nervous system, restore harmony, and awaken inner illumination. The soundscape, crystal bowls, and harmonic tones support deep release in your nervous system during this spacious experience.
The Energy of the Day
On Sunday, November 2nd, we set the clocks back and lose an hour of daylight, but we will bring the light from within as each element of the experience is informed by sacred traditions from around the world that create a bridge between past and present, shadow and light—a perfect mirror for finding the third line within each of us.
• All Souls’ Day — remembrance and gratitude (Sun Nov 2)
• Día de los Muertos — honoring lineage through joy and color (Nov 1-2)
• Samhain / Celtic New Year — release and renewal (Oct 31-Nov1)
• Diwali — light and new beginnings, (Oct 20)
• Daylight Savings — time for rest, rhythm, and reflection (Nov 2)
The Science Behind the Somatic Movement & Sound
Sound therapy works through harmonic vibration, bringing the body’s nervous system back into balance. Research shows that frequencies from instruments like crystal bowls can slow brainwave activity, calm the stress response, and activate the parasympathetic “rest-and-digest” state—leaving you deeply relaxed, restored, and reset.
Somatic movement releases stored tension and regulates the nervous system, shifting the body from stress to calm. By awakening inner sensory awareness, it helps you feel more grounded and present. This creates an open, receptive state that deepens meditation or sound bowl experiences.
These modalities are also rooted in ancient tradition: for thousands of years, cultures across Asia, Africa, and the Americas have used gongs, bowls, and rhythmic movement in ceremony and healing—harnessing vibration as a pathway to connection and wholeness.
