Several studies have shown that time in nature can be emotionally healing. On this walk, we will learn some mindfulness methods that may help you find some peace and grounding in a tumultuous world. Though I am not a mental health specialist, I am happy to share some first hand details on how forest therapy, hiking and backpacking have helped me personally with my own challenges.

Plan to walk a slow to moderate paced 1.5-2 miles on varied terrain with several stops to practice mindfulness techniques. Somewhere along our route we will take a few minutes to sit, forest bathe and chat.

Bring a snack, water and something to sit on if youd like. This is a beginner friendly event.

Liz , the host for the evening, is a certified Sylvotherapist (forest therapist) as well as a Naturalist, WFR and horticulturist. She studies and implements Ethnobotany, Wetland and Habitat Restoration and backpacks as much as possible. In her downtime, she fights for human rights, mental health awareness and food security for all.

This event, as all of our events, are LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC friendly. If cost is a barrier to joining the walk, please message me and we can work something out!
