Find Your Path: Running Industry Career Summit hosted by the Running Industry Diversity Coalition (RIDC)

The RIDC is partnering with Charlotte Running Co. to host a 5K run/walk and career summit in Charlotte, NC. We are committed to broadening access to the running industry, so we're taking our message to the streets! This event offers a chance for attendees to explore the running industry, discover the wide range of career opportunities it provides, and potentially secure a new job. Enjoy networking and shopping at your local run specialty store while you learn!

For the Girls 5K Walk/Run:

Join us in celebrating the legacy of Ms. Opal Lee, the Grandmother of Juneteenth, who at eighty-nine years old campaigned to make Juneteenth a national holiday by walking from Fort Worth, TX, to Washington, DC. The 5K walk/run begins at 8:30 AM directly outside the store, and all are invited to run in honor of the women of color who have shaped our lives. All ages and paces are welcome, so bring your family and friends! We encourage you to invite a woman of color to share in the joy and celebration.

Breakfast:

Refuel after the morning run with free breakfast, starting around 9:00 AM! Grab some food, shop at the Charlotte Running Co. store (which will offer an exclusive discount during the event), and network with company representatives from the running industry. Fun fact! A portion of in-store sales will be donated to the RIDC to provide more opportunities for Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color. Breakfast will be provided on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last. Vegan and gluten-free options will be available.

Panel:

From 10 AM to 10:30 AM, we will have a panel of representatives from brands and organizations within the running industry to discuss the ins and outs of starting a career in this industry. During this panel, you will have the opportunity to:

• Learn about the perks of working in the running industry
• Discover running brands and learn about unique job opportunities
• Hear from companies that are committed to supporting inclusion, visibility, and access for Black, Indigenous, and other people of color
• Engage in a Q&A with folks that have experience in this industry
