To achieve its ambitious goals of running on 70% renewable energy by 2030 and 100% zero-emissions electricity by 2040, New York’s objectives hinge on successful renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and energy storage. But scaling these initiatives requires significant investment and careful planning to navigate technical, regulatory, and financial complexities. While the current trade policies and incentives will likely generate medium-term funding and permit bottlenecks, driving the energy transition will require substantial capital and creative cooperation between private and public lenders, as well as innovative financing models.

This event, tailored for early-career professionals in finance and banking, will focus on the strategies and financial mechanisms needed to support large-scale renewable energy projects in New York. Participants will gain insights into funding opportunities and challenges, the latest trends in project financing, and how finance professionals can accelerate the city’s energy transition. This event marks the first of a two-part conversation on financing infrastructure in New York and will be followed by another Forum event focused on building decarbonization.
