This Photo Club presentation, led by artist Charles Purvis, covers the basics of traditional 35mm, 120, and 4×5 cameras and film.

Film and film cameras are very different from digital cameras and create very different photographs. Because they do less for us, we need to understand how they function, their unique capabilities, and how we can optimize their use.

This Photo Club presentation, led by artist Charles Purvis, covers the basics of traditional 35mm, 120, and 4×5 cameras and film. Charles will cover how the cameras function, lenses, film-loading, exposure tips, and best use. He’ll present common film types, their structure, attributes, and suggestions for best use. Examples of the cameras and film will be on hand.
