Trip/area Description: This large Conservation Area along the St. Johns River is home to a variety of habitats and wildlife. Visitors enjoy this property because of the sheer size of it and how open and vast much of the landscape is. There are huge marshes, miles of open water, shady hammocks, piney woods, and much more – a treasure of remoteness in the busy central Florida area. Guide Ricky Ray will take the participants ona hike to the St. Johns River.

Duration of trip: 1.5-hour drive to site. 4 hours at location.

Walking distance: 5 miles

Degree of difficulty: Easy walking on open road.
