Saddle Up for the Rodeo of No Return!

Our 2025 batch of Nighty Night Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout makes its debut on October 25th - and this year's festival is going to be one hell of a hootenanny. The return of our most anticipated, most limited barrel-aged beer deserves a celebration as dark and dank as its rich, boozy body. As always, Festival of Darkness is the most epic zombie apocalypse-themed party around, but this year we have a subtheme that's sure to be a real wing-dinger: THE WILD WEST. From Clint Deadwood to R.I.P. Wheeler to Nightwalker Texas Ranger, the costumes this year are sure to be buckin'.

Join us on October 25th as a horde of undead outlaws invade the brewery for a celebration of dark beer, alongside over 30 local and regional breweries and distilleries pouring samples of their selections in our beer garden of darkness, stilt-walking and fire-breathing circus artists, live music from DJ AJ, Bad Habit, and Rhinestone Revival, cash prizes for best costumes, and plenty of food and beer.

Sponsors

IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO SUMMON THE UNDEAD. Zombies may not have brains, but turns out, they have a lot of heart. Thanks to the real MVPs of the apocalypse, our presenting sponsor First Horizon Bank and beer garden sponsor Subaru of Little Rock, Festival of Darkness is more than just a beer festival — it’s a celebration with a purpose.

Frequently asked questions

WHAT DO I WEAR?

We are encouraging everyone to dress in attire inspired by 'the undead'. While our theme is always "zombie lumberjack," this year we have a sub theme - THE WILD WEST.

IS THIS EVENT 21+ ONLY?

Well, yeah - this is a beer event that features alcohol sampling, entertainment, and after dark activities and is not open to anyone under 21 years of age.

DO I NEED AN I.D.

Well, yeah - this is a beer event. Our friendly law enforcement officials really, really like it when we ensure everyone is of legal drinking age. You will be given a wristband at the event entrance when you present your ID and event ticket.

WHERE MAY I PARK MY HEARSE, BROOM, SHIP, OR OTHER VEHICLE?

Our lot will be closed since it is the location of the festivities, but parking will be available at Sherwin Williams, at Winnelson Electric, and surrounding streets. As always, we recommend UBER'ing in to avoid the hassle of parking, and so that you may imbibe and ride responsibly!

WHAT IS THE GARDEN OF DARKNESS?

Our friends from 30+ breweries have generously agreed to pour samples of a dark beer selection and favorites from their fall lineup to celebrate with us.

Organized by

Lost Forty Brewing takes its name from the historic, storied forest that stands on 40 acres of Arkansas's last truly virgin soil in Calhoun County. We aim to craft beers as unwavering, wild, and uniquely Arkansas as the the land itself. Lost Forty, both the forest and the brewery, is part tall tale, a little bit of hearsay, a lot of history, a few facts, a big cast of characters and completely Arkansas.
