Ferryman Collective is offering a limited June run of their award-winning show Gumball Dreams. Run Time: Aprox 60-75 Minutes
Narrative Summary:
You have been called by an alien creature named Onyx to a mythical planet on which they are living out their final days. You, and two others, are asked to help them transition from this reality to the next.
But before Onyx can lay infinite wisdom at your feet, the weight of your spirit must be assessed. If found ready, you shall embark upon the journey of a lifetime, skipping among the stars, floating above the spheres, and remembering who you really are.
About Gumball Dreams:
Winner of the 2022 SXSW Audience Award XR Experience Competition, this guided virtual reality theater experience had its international premiere at the prestigious 79th International Venice Film Festival and its Asia premier at the Kaohsiung Film Festival where it won the Grand Jury prize, before winning Best Immersive Performance at Raindance Immersive. Gumball Dreams was also awarded Best 2022 Experience, Creator of the Year and Best Live Experience by the online magazine and database XRMust.
How it Works:
Gumball Dreams is a guided virtual reality theatre experience designed for three audience members, performed with a live actor playing multiple roles. Audiences may attend from anywhere in the world, as long as they have access to a Quest 2, 3, 3s or PCVR.
Through the magic of VR technology, participants will feel fully immersed into the 3D world. The production will provide support in getting attendees into the performance and troubleshooting any technical difficulties.
TICKETING:
There are only THREE tickets available for each show time. Audience members will be the primary focus of the experience, participants can expect a high level of interactivity.
Additional Info:
To make the most out of this experience, audience members should have their microphone ON so that they may speak with the characters that they encounter.

Yes, you’ll need a VR headset with access to VRChat. The Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest Pro, or PCVR headsets are all viable options for enjoying live VR theater performances.

The show is based on adult themes, including death, self-acceptance, and gratitude, it’s essential for viewers to have enough emotional maturity to appreciate these profound themes alongside the overall experience. We also recommend audiences are 13 or over in alignment with Oculus guidelines.
Yes, you’ll need to download VRChat, a free social VR platform. For QUEST: If you’re using an Oculus Quest headset, head to the Quest Store and search for “VRChat.” Install it from there. For PC: If you’re on PC, you can download VRChat from Steam. You will also need a VRChat account.
Absolutely! Before, during and after the show, you’ll have the opportunity to chat with other audience members, including the performer. Feel free to engage, share your thoughts, and immerse yourself in this interactive experience.
Certainly! Just like in the physical realm, there’s a lobby area before and after the show in our virtual theater. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with others and ask questions.
We do not recommend doing so, as troubleshooting streaming issues during the show can be distracting. Instead, we encourage you to enjoy the show directly and share your experience with friends and family afterward, describing the magic you witnessed!
After purchasing your ticket, you’ll receive detailed email instructions including: How to access VRChat. How to join the performance world. We’ll also provide tech support to help you get in smoothly.
Standing can help reduce motion discomfort, but choose what feels best. A fan may help with orientation. We’ll review VRChat’s comfort settings before the show (enable Comfort Turning and use Low/High Tunneling to ease movement) and take breaks if needed.
Yes. Gumball Dreams contains animations and special effects that may affect those with photosensitive epilepsy or similar conditions. Viewer discretion is advised.
Make sure your headset is charged and your controllers have fresh batteries. Headphones are recommended for audio clarity, immersion and help with any potential feedback. Comfortable clothing for free movement. A quiet space where you can stand or move safely, although you may sit if preferred.
