About this event

goth gf 4 goth gf: a sapphic goth night deep in seattle’s notoriously haunted underground. this night is all about creating a space where goth culture and sapphic energy collide, free from the usual nightlife pressures. whether you're here to dance, connect, or just revel in the eerie vibes, this is your space to be yourself – unapologetically, safely, and surrounded by those who get it.

in an underground vault with a history as dark as the music. haunted? maybe. filled with the energy of sapphic goths living their best lives? absolutely. this event was born out of a need for safety and community in the goth and nightlife scenes, and it’s all about holding space for ALL women, non-binary folks, and everyone under the sapphic umbrella who’s ready to embrace the darkness on their own terms.

the soundtrack to your night will be everything from sultry Cobrah beats to goth night classics – the kind of music that makes you feel alive and sexy.

the dress code is classic goth: black, leather, lace – bring out your inner vampire queen, witch, or dark romantic. this night is all about the goth gf vibe, so dress for yourself and no one else (or, i guess, your current.. or next.. goth gf).

This particular event is not for cishet men. Thank you for respecting the space!

MASKS ARE REQUIRED!

Previously, our masked events have been poorly attended. Sadly, we cannot afford to run shows and events with low attendance. However, we get emails weekly requesting masked events. So-- if you want more programming like this, come out and show your support!

If you idenity as such, please look at some of our other programming!

NO TERFs. EVER.

Frequently asked questions

I have a question about accessibility!

Asylum is located down a staircase, and as a part of the Seattle Underground, has not been retrofitted with an elevator. / There will be moving lights (not strobe) & fog. / Masks and hand sanitizer are available, but not enforced. / We have HEPA air purifiers. / All staff have been vaccinated.

What's your refund policy?

As we're a tiny nonprofit and all contributions are processed as donations, we're genuinely unable to provide refunds within one week of smaller events like classes and two weeks of larger ones (100+ attendees). Thank you for understanding!

Do you actually enforce the dress code?

Yes.

My ID is.....

You must have valid ID to enter (no expired, punched, or school IDs; no photos on your phone, either).

What if I don't have a 'good enough' mask?

If you don't have a KN95+ mask, we'll have them at the door. Please put it on before you enter. If you are going to modify your mask with a straw port, please do so before entering.

What if I need a break?

Please don't take down your mask to drink, talk, etc. If you want to go outside to smoke, take a break from your mask, etc, keep your mask on until you are at the top of the stairs. We have straws to poke under your mask for drinking.

You're underground! You should do ________!

We are a low-ventilation space in the Seattle Underground. We have big fans, but not a ton of ventilation. We cannot leave our doors open.

Do I get like, three strikes?

If you are caught by staff with your mask down/nose not covered/etc, we will remind you once to pull it up. After that, you will be required to leave. If you simply take your mask off in the venue, you will be required to leave.

This isn't COVID-safe!

Remember that this is a harm reduction approach to our normal events-- not a full-blown sterile environment. We are physically underground with 100+ year old wiring that cannot handle things like UV lights on top of air purifiers, sound, refrigeration, etc. Be thoroughly informed before deciding. <3
