fear, Fortitude, and the Future is a book about fear, power, and accomplishment, and gaining the grit and gumption it takes to overcome obstacles and get where you want to be. It's a story about taking the first step to move forward while still liking yourself in the end, of making change when self-doubt looms large but knowing that our self-worth is more important. Lori Goldman was a wife, mother, and social gadabout when a higher calling took hold of her nearly ten years ago. She founded Fems for Dems and Fems for Change, two groups that pushed suburban women out of their comfort zone and into action. Now a community organizer, board member, political leader, public speaker, and podcast host, Goldman went from doing less than her part as an ordinary citizen to a changemaker with a small but brave act. Her story is one of humble beginnings and unlikely actions that propelled her into the national spotlight. No longer fearful, she is now fierce, with a bold mission: to help women find their voice, feel seen, and join her on center stage. Goldman is a force to be reckoned with and wants to show women how they can be too.

Lori Goldman was born and raised in Ecorse, Michigan and moved to Oakland County three decades ago. Ms. Goldman is the mother and stepmother to six children and mother to one black Labrador-mix rescue named Paul. Ms. Goldman was never a regular voter when she started Fems for Dems ten years ago. She now sits on the organization's board as well as that of Fems for Democracy and is a member of the Birmingham-Bloomfield Democrats, and Michigan NOW. Ms. Goldman spends her days doing real estate but spends her time otherwise on Fems for Dems' mission of furthering progressive causes and turning Michigan blue (again). This is her first (but not her last) book.

Cindi Cook is a political consultant, writer, editor, and author. Ms. Cook has worked as a Field Organizer on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential race and the 2017 gubernatorial race in Virginia; as the Voter Protection Specialist in the 2022 midterms in Detroit; and as a Regional Organizing Director in Mississippi in 2023. Ms. Cook was Governor Whitmer's Organizing Director for Fight Like Hell PAC and worked as a Constituent Services Director/Legislative Aide in the Michigan House of Representatives. She was the Paris Correspondent for Anadolu Agency and is the former Editor in Chief of Hamptons magazine. Ms. Cook's work has appeared in HuffPost, The New York Times, The New York Post, Allure, Interior Design, and Tatler. Fear, Fortitude, and the Future marks the first publication for her publishing company, CCC.
