Frequently asked questions

How should I pay for New Teacher Academy?

A PO (purchase order) should be placed through your school so that you can attend these required FCS new teacher trainings. Then once you are billed for attending the New Teacher academy sessions in July, your school will send payment to the FCS State Office at 1500 W. 7th Ave. Stillwater, OK 74074.

Should I stay overnight to attend the trainings?

If you are driving from far away, you are more than welcome to stay in Stillwater the night prior to the training session! A hotel block is reserved at the Hampton Inn on Hall of Fame. Booking Link to copy and paste:

What should I wear?

Business Casual dress is mandatory. Business casual dress is a professional yet relaxed attire that blends traditional business wear with more comfortable, modern pieces. It is less formal than business professional but still polished and put together. It's important to look professional for guests.

What NOT to wear to FCS New Teacher Academy:

No jeans, capris, or shorts are allowed. Please do not wear any denim, i.e. jeans or jean jackets. Do not wear capri pants, shorts, or flip-flop shoes. Avoid athleisure/gym attire, beachwear, distressed or ripped clothing, revealing or tight fitting clothing, and graphic tees.

What should you bring to Sept. NTA Follow Up?

PLEASE MAKE SURE that you bring 1. Your CTIMS login information (if you are unsure of how to get this please contact CTIMS support 405-743-5134 or CTIMSSupport@careertech.ok.gov). 2. Your laptop or smart device (we will be walking through important reporting steps together). 3. A positive attitude!
