This presentation will cover what mushrooms are, what different kinds there are, what someone might want to bring with them foraging, different uses for mushrooms, and specific mushroom identification. Strand Sheldahl will bring several samples of mushrooms from the region.

Strand Sheldahl is a Park Ranger who has served with OPRD at Fort Stevens for 4 years. At the park he leads kayak tours, whale watches, mushroom walks, and historical programming. Before coming to OPRD he earned a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Literature from Purdue University. He taught philosophy for several years at Purdue University Fort Wayne and continues to teach some classes online
