Family Nervous System Reset — A Calmer Start to 2026
Overview
The holidays can leave both kids and adults overstimulated, overtired, and overloaded. January is the perfect time to reset. This free workshop helps parents and educators understand what’s happening in the body during stress and transition—especially for kids with big feelings.
We’ll explore the sympathetic nervous system, simple vagus-nerve–friendly practices, and everyday routines that bring more regulation, grounding, and connection into home and classroom life. Participants will leave with practical tools to help families and classrooms start the new year with more calm, resilience, and ease.
This workshop is just 30 minutes long. The facilitator will stay on an extra half-hour to address specific issues and questions.
About Ed Center:
Ed Center is a queer brown dad who coaches parents and other kid-raisers toward greater connection, calm, and joy. During the height of the pandemic, Ed’s son suffered an acute mental health crisis. Searching for support, Ed discovered the field of positive parenting and learned strategies and tools to strengthen his connection with his son, leading to healing for the whole family. He started The Village Well to bring more connection, joy, and healing to families of color.
