Fall Fortification!

Back by popular demand! Fortified Wines are so named for the process in which they are made. Just like Frosted Flakes are “fortified” with extra vitamins and minerals, certain wines can be fortified with extra alcohol! Fortified wines were created back in the 16th and 17th centuries as a way of protecting regular table wines that were being shipped on long sea voyages. Although the need for fortification is no longer required for modern wines, fortified wines have remained one of the most enjoyable categories of wine. From Port to Sherry to Madeira, you’ll be sure to find some new favorites. As the weather gets cooler, these wines taste even better. Expect some tasty treats alongside, including chocolate!
