About this event

Spirituality • Eastern Religion

A Despacho is a sacred Andean offering rooted in the spiritual traditions of the Q'ero people of Peru, often guided by Paqos (Andean shamans or wisdom keepers). It is a beautiful, intentional ritual that involves creating a mandala-like bundle of offerings—including items like flowers, sugar, shells, foods, seeds, leaves, candy, and symbolic objects—that represent gratitude, prayers, and intentions.

Each element in the Despacho holds meaning and is placed with love and purpose to honor the Apus (mountain spirits), Pachamama (Mother Earth), and the unseen forces of nature. The ceremony is an act of reciprocity (ayni), acknowledging the interconnectedness between humans, nature, and the spirit world. Once completed, the Despacho is traditionally either burned, buried, or offered to water as a way of releasing the intentions into the universe.

It’s a powerful and heart-opening practice for cleansing, healing, manifesting, and giving thanks, and often accompanies life transitions, ceremonies, and moments of deep spiritual connection.

These ceremonies are guided differently each time they are presented at SEIKRID based on different seasons, cosmic events, and more.

What to Expect:

For this sacred gathering, please bring a yoga mat to lay on and any blankets or items that help you feel cozy and supported—this is a space of comfort, connection, and deep intention. The Despacho will be lovingly created by the facilitator, serving as a centerpiece for our collective prayer. You can expect gentle guidance, open-hearted conversation, and a shared journey as we offer our intentions together. Throughout the ceremony, we may weave in various modalities to deepen the prayer—such as sound, Reiki, or other intuitive practices—all to help call in the energy of what we’re offering and receiving. This is a sacred, relaxed, and co-created experience—come as you are.
