Faith in Action: Coordinating Catholic Disaster Response in Rhode Island - Working Dinner
Event Description:
Join us for a working dinner focused on strengthening Catholic-led disaster response in Rhode Island. This collaborative evening brings together leadership from St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP), the Knights of Columbus, and Catholic Charities to explore how we can better coordinate efforts before, during, and after disasters.
We’ll begin with an overview of how disaster relief is structured in Rhode Island—from emergency response to long-term recovery—and how faith-based organizations play a vital role in every phase. Together, we’ll discuss how to:
- Align our missions with the state's disaster response framework
- Identify roles each organization can play in times of crisis
- Improve communication and coordination before disasters strike
- Support vulnerable communities during recovery
- Build a united, faith-driven approach to preparedness and relief
This is a working session designed to build real partnerships, share ideas, and lay the groundwork for a more coordinated Catholic response to future disasters. Your voice and leadership are essential as we plan how to serve our communities with compassion, efficiency, and faith.
