Join Community Legal Services and PolicyLink at the Friends Center in Philadelphia on October 22nd & 23rd for Fairness in Screening Convening!

This year, CLS is partnering with PolicyLink to bring together advocates who are focused on advancing fairness in housing and employment, with a particular focus on background screening.

As housing and employment screening protections gain traction nationwide, algorithmic technologies are simultaneously deepening discrimination – making the need for bold, strategic legal representation and policy interventions at the state and local level more urgent than ever. This convening will provide a unique opportunity to connect with peers from across the country, share practical strategies, and build momentum for change.

The first day of the conference will focus largely on criminal record and tenant screening in the employment and housing contexts, including the application of the FCRA. The second day will include content on record clearing, criminal court debt, employment and housing rights, and much more!

Registration Information:

  • Public interest/nonprofit organization staff - $100
  • Private sector attorneys/staff - $200
