Overview

Benjamin Yelle, Teaching Professor in CSSH, describes strategies he uses to motivate students to see the value of their own thinking.

With so many generative AI tools available, how can we counter students’ temptation to outsource thinking by helping them tap into their intrinsic motivation? This Faculty Spotlight features Benjamin Yelle, Teaching Professor in CSSH, who will describe strategies he uses to motivate students to see the value of their own thinking. You will learn about his approaches, including creating a sense of community, fostering a sense of ownership and agency, and building on student interests.
