Event description

Mon. March 23rd & Mon. March 30th, 15:00 - 19:00 GMT

Join renowned leader in remote collaboration, Judy Rees, in this highly-interactive workshop for ICAgile Authorized Instructors!

With growing demand for top-quality remote learning experiences, trainers are faced with the challenge of adapting their instructional experience to facilitate remote courses. This daunting endeavor is no small task for the most competent instructors, who face a myriad of challenges:

  • Getting trapped by the technology.

  • Limited Interaction with participants.

  • Difficulty reading the group’s dynamics.

  • Bridging broader cultural differences among participants.

  • Making lively small-group activities work.

  • Overcoming the ever-deadly talking-over-slides format.

  • Competing with distractions that prevent deep and authentic engagement from students.

This workshop will teach you how to make your online training as vibrant as when you’re two feet away from participants. This one-of-a-kind learning experience, led by recognized thought leader Judy Rees, is exclusively offered to ICAgile Authorized Instructors. Judy Rees’ approach, combining an awareness of best facilitative training practices with practical knowledge of modern online meeting technology, will help you learn to get great results even when you can’t be in the room with your participants.

Following this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Describe what an engaging, participative live online workshop looks, sounds and feels like.

  • Make real, human connections with participants and create a psychologically safe space remotely.

  • Discourage groupthink and amplify divergence in live online video discussions.

  • Adapt your small-group exercises/activities for a live online video environment.

  • Implement proven approaches for tailoring Agile exercises for live online classes.

  • Implement strategies to manage tools such as chat and whiteboards alongside a video stream, and handle overload.

  • Identify relevant technical considerations, and deal with common issues.

“Honestly, anyone who runs a remote meeting would benefit from this session.”

Chris Palmisano
Lead Agile Coach, Accenture

This workshop is designed for ICAgile Authorized Instructors with robust instructional experience who are just embarking on a journey into remote facilitation. As such, this offering is not well-suited to those without instructional experience, nor those who regularly facilitate remote training already. Need advice on whether this is the right workshop for you? Send us a message at info@icagile.com!

The small and lively learning experience is highly-interactive, requiring active participation in conversational English for the entirety of both four-hour sessions. The workshop will take place over two half-day sessions (Mon. March 23rd & Mon. March 30th, 15:00 - 19:00 GMT), held via Zoom video meeting.
