Description:
Come join community supported playful exploration of improvised vocalization. An ecstatic dance for the voice, if you will. In this workshop we'll explore the healing that can be found when we allow our brains to get out of the way and allow our souls to make the sounds. We'll play with the power of vocal toning, allowing our pitches, frequencies, and vibrations to connect and discover how these community created tones can physiologically benefit our nervous systems. We'll support one another in letting the music and our spirits guide as we accompany instrumental music tracks with our personal instrument, our voice. We can sing, rap, use gibberish, skatting, grunting, moaning, groaning, buzzing, beatboxing, tongue clicking, laughing, toning, ohming, whatever wants to authentically emerge from you, you are right! We'll explore methods of improvising lyrics like focusing on topic, theme, story, or feeling. Possible results of this exploration could include deeper trust in community and in your instincts as you learn to tap into a creative level of yourself that could quite probably surprise even yourself.
