About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours 30 minutes

This workshop is aimed at front line practitioners working to support separated families. The workshop will help to unpack how a parents own experience of trauma in their earlier life can impact on how they manage and cope with separation. In turn exploring the impact this has on parenting and outcomes for children post separation, as parents often struggle and can seem to remain 'stuck' in the conflict. The workshop content will apply trauma therapy, narrative practice, and attachment theory in supporting our understanding of trauma in our work with separated families.

This is an interactive workshop, with room to ask questions, while also creating a space to understanding the theory of trauma and how it applies in some cases of separated parents.
